SHAKA Services has had a successful year securing a 50% increase in interest in the charity’s work during 2006/7 awareness campaigns and events.

Looking ahead SHAKA are hoping to broaden it’s message and provide support across London.

Coming up events are:
BLACK HISTORY MONTH: This event has been celebrated across the United Kingdom every October for over 30 years. Black history month reflect what the blacks have achieved and what should be achieved. This month uncover hidden history about the black communities. Shaka services will be attending this event in different boroughs.
WORLD AIDS DAY: This day is about increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education on HIV/AIDS. It provides the opportunity to raise awareness and focus attention on the global AIDS epidemic.
IMMIGRATION CONFERENCE: To provide updated information to our service users about the recent change in immigration laws and how it will affect their immigration status in the United Kingdom. This conference will only be free for those living or affected with HIV/AIDS.
DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANE (DLA) CONFERENCE: To discuss the impacts of DLA review to HIV/AIDS clients in south London. Shaka Services are organizing this conference to fight for users’ right to DLA.
